The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is pleased to announce that TEGNA Foundation and 10News WTSP have awarded FMoPA a $2,000 Community Action Grant for ongoing support.
“We are honored that TEGNA Foundation and 10News WTSP have recognized the cultural value of FMoPA to the Tampa Bay and Sarasota communities and graciously demonstrated their support of the museum,” says Zora Carrier, FMoPA’s Executive Director.
The TEGNA Foundation Community Action Grant Program provides support to nonprofit organizations in the communities served by TEGNA Inc. 10News WTSP (Channel 10, CBS) is a TEGNA company serving Tampa Bay and Sarasota. TEGNA Community Action Grant priorities include education and neighborhood improvement, economic development, youth development, community problem-solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, environmental conservation, and cultural enrichment.
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is one of fewer than ten museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography and one of two such museums in the state of Florida. FMoPA seeks to enrich the lives of the citizens of the Tampa Bay area by providing rare, specialized access to the wonders of photography not only as an aesthetic form but also as a multi-faceted historical and contemporary document of our world through exhibitions, education, outreach programs, and local collaborations.
About FMoPA: The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is a museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture.
