Only a fool would try to offend the most powerful woman in the world and the next President of the United States. If you mess with Hillary Clinton or the media you’re going to “feel the burn.” In an attempt to resurrect his acting career, Tim Robbins, a self-proclaimed Bernie Sanders advocate, went to Twitter accusing Hillary Clinton and the media of voter fraud and election rigging. A supporter of Clinton fired-back by saying, “Robbins has a history of mental illness. That’s why Susan Sarandon left him. Now nobody in Hollywood wants anything to do with him.” An industry insider added, “He’s like Hulk Hogan. An old man trying to bring attention to himself in a futile attempt to regain a career that died over 20 years ago.”
In the past week, Robbins has engaged in other egregious conduct that has alienated him from the entertainment industry. Steve Comisar, an actor and felon completing a 15-year prison sentence for fraud, reached out to Robbins for help with his career after release. Robbins is the founder of “The Actors Gang” an organization claiming to help inmates. Robbins response was quick. He blocked Comisar’s email address.
A former associate of Robbins said, “It’s ironic because if Tim helped Comisar he would have garnered the positive media attention he so desperately craves. Now he’s just another Mel Gibson. Nobody will touch him with a ten foot pole. I’m hoping an actual successful actor will step forward and help Comisar. That will teach arrogant Tim a lesson on kindness.”
Steve Comisar himself had nothing negative to say about Robbins. He said, “Shawshank Redemption is my all time favorite movie. It hurts that Mr. Robbins slammed the door in my face and wouldn’t even consider helping me.” Comisar who has been in prison for 14 years has over 600,000 loyal Twitter followers, while Tim Robbins who won an Oscar has only 22,000.
