telemundoNoticias Telemundo presents “La historia se repite,” a series of five in-depth special reports on immigration and deportation premiering Monday, September 14 and airing all week long on Un Nuevo Día, Al Rojo Vivo and Noticiero Telemundo. Presented by veteran journalist María Celeste Arrarás and Vanessa Hauc, the reports aim to provide the context for a system that has deported more than three million Mexicans since 1929.

The stories profiled in “La historia se repite” start in la plaza de la deportaciones, a public square in Los Angeles with a history as the center of mass deportations. Viewers will meet some of the families torn apart when their relatives were sent back across the border, episodes that continue to cause them pain to this day. As part of the coverage, immigration experts will share analysis and commentary on the mass deportations proposed by Donald Trump. Are such policies viable? To test the idea, the Noticias Telemundo news team will attempt to live a day without Latinos. What would life in the United States be like without these immigrants?

Presented in five installments, with a new one airing each day, “La historia se repite” is part of Noticias Telemundo’s extensive coverage of the lead-up to the 2016 presidential elections, offering viewers the information and context they need to decide which way to cast their votes.
