NHK WORLD TV, Japan’s sole public broadcaster, will bring television food personality and prominent Japanese chef Rika Yukimasa to “Groupon Bite of Seattle,” Seattle’s original food and beverage showcase on July 21-23, 2017. Chef Rika Yukimasa is a co-host ofDining with the Chef,” a signature lifestyle and cooking program on NHK WORLD TV. In the series, Chef Rika demonstrates original Japanese recipes and enlightens viewers about Japanese food culture. NHK WORLD TV will have a booth at “The Bite,” located in the Fountain Lawn area at the Seattle Center (305 Harrison St.).

From steamed beef and vegetables to yellowtail teriyaki, Chef Rika introduces easy-to-make contemporary Japanese dishes to viewers on “Dining with the Chef.” As a cooking researcher and author, Chef Rika shares original recipes with cooking techniques and useful tips, like substituting ingredients to make Japanese cuisine more accessible to home cooks. Her recipes can be found on the program’s website, as well as on NHK WORLD TV’s food portal, “JAPANESE FOOD.”

While visiting Seattle, Chef Rika will teach a Friday, July 21st 12:00PM – 1:00PM class with book signing at the prestigious Hot Stove Society, a year-round cooking school owned and operated by Tom Douglas Restaurant Group located in Hotel Andra at 2000 4th Avenue. Three different delicious Japanese dishes will be prepared and sampled by the class, which will be limited to 40 participants.

Additionally, Chef Rika will provide a demonstration of Chirashi Sushi (scattered sushi) and Deep-fried Oysters with Panko from 5:00PM – 6:00PM on Saturday, July 22nd at The Bite Cooks! stage.
