Dr. Freiji has been in practice for more than 26 years and is currently serving patients as a Pediatrician and Infectious Disease Physician at Integrative Medical Ecovillage in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Rula Freiji received her Medical Degree in 1990 from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by her Pediatric residency at the same educational venue. She then proceeded with her fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases while simultaneously pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Health, graduating with both in 1996 from Emory University School of Medicine & Rollins School of Public Health in International Epidemiology focus.
Dr. Freiji is board certified in Pediatrics as well as Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and has become known as an expert in the treatment of nosocomial infections, Tuberculosis, vaccine preventable childhood illnesses as well as common pediatric infectious diseases. She attributes her success to the hard work she puts in, which is demonstrated by her regular volunteer work helping refugees in Lebanon and Greece. In addition to this philanthropic work, Dr. Freiji also enjoys playing the piano, traveling, and being a yoga practitioner.
