Living demonstration of what students have been learning
(PR NewsChannel) / March 19, 2014 / TAMPA, Fla.

Hillel AcademyHillel Academy is proud to present the third annual Project Night on Thurs., Mar. 27, 2014, 5:30 – 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend along with students’ families and friends.

Project Night is a living demonstration of what Hillel Academy students have been actively learning and collaborating on with their peers over the course of the past few months.

Project Based Learning is intended to reflect contemporary, real-world experiences in both learning and work style, much like those adults encounter on the job. It begins with the intent to answer a question or solve a problem as a group or team. It requires research and inquiry, engagement in tasks that encourage authentic learning, peer interaction and cooperation, individual leadership and project management skills. A deeper knowledge of subject matter is promoted and students are allowed to develop the skills necessary to accomplish the task of finding solutions and presenting them as a cohesive, dynamic and quality project.

Hillel Academy students researched topics and created projects in a manner that could only be dreamed of a generation ago. With the proper tools and guidance, there is no limit to what the students achieve.

All grade levels will present during Project Night. Examples of the upcoming student presentations include:

1. Transitional Kindergarten – “It’s a Small World” (focusing on Israel, Russia and Guatemala)
2. Kindergarten – “On Safari” (focusing on animals found in Africa)
3. 1st grade – Habitats
4. 2nd grade – Art Museum
5. 3rd grade – Animal Life
6. 4th grade – Machines in Science
7. 5th grade – Nature of Mathematics
8. 6th grade – Genealogy
9. 7th grade – Genetics
10. 8th grade – The Renaissance

Hillel Academy is located at 2020 W. Fletcher Avenue in Tampa.
