Dr. De Lange’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1982, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Thereafter he completed a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology Degree at the University of the Orange Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa, which was followed by an internship at the University of Pretoria.
Dr. De Lange is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is member of many professional organizations including the Southern African Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the South African Glaucoma Society, and the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa. He is renowned for his expertise in cataract surgery, and was the winner of the 2009 Kritzinger Safari Lecture and Medal, and a 2001 DJ Woods Memorial Lecture and Medal. In his free time, Dr. De Lange is an accomplished marathon runner.
