Friedberg is an established Anesthesiologist, and is the President and Founder of the Goldilocks Anesthesia Foundation, a nonprofit, public benefit corporation whose mission is to make brain monitoring a standard of care for major surgery under anesthesia. Dr. Friedberg has been in practice for over four decades and has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of care to his patients.
Dr. Friedberg’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1974 when he graduated from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon earning his Medical Degree, he completed his anesthesia residency at Stanford University in California. Dr. Friedberg is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, and began his medical career practicing cardiac anesthesia for five years at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital, having introduced the Swan Ganz catheter and cardiac output computer to the heart team.
Dr. Friedberg successfully developed the Propofol Ketamine anesthesia in 1992, designed to maximize patient safety for office-based, elective cosmetic surgery. In 1996, he founded the Society for Office Anesthesiologists and merged in 1998 with the Society for Office Based Anesthesia. He has worked tirelessly to create and expand awareness of brain monitoring and his PK anesthesia, determined to making surgical experiences easier and safer for patients. Moreover, he will be an invited speaker at the 2th Opioid Free Anesthesia Meeting in December 2017 in Bruges, Belgium. Dr. Friedberg attributes his success to his determination to give something positive back to the world, and is committed to educating the public and his anesthesia colleagues with the latest advances in his field.
