The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Joyce Marie Jackson-Yancey, LPN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Joyce is a Licensed Practical Nurse with more than four decades of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially home healthcare. She is currently retired, working part-time at Maxim Healthcare. Furthermore, Joyce previously hosted a mental health care home in the state of Connecticut for five years.
Joyce studied at E.C. Goodwin Regional Vocational Technical School and Hartford Hospital. Joyce’s career in nursing began in 1964 when she graduated with her Nursing License specializing in labor and delivery from Rockville Hospital Training. She is proficient in sign language, and holds a Marketing Management Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Morse School of Business in Hartford. An advocate for continual learning, she has also completed numerous continued education courses.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Joyce maintains a professional membership with the Visiting Nurses Association and the National Public Health Association. During her long career, she has worked in many areas of nursing, from labor and delivery to pulmonary and trauma care. Occasionally, Joyce does some public speaking, as well as writes poems and short stories. Joyce attributes her success to her hard work, being resourceful and inquisitive, never being content with the status quo, and always looking for new opportunities to improve her condition and that of her patients.
