She then completed a research fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s National Medical Center, followed by an additional research fellowship in Immunology at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Expert procedures undertaken by Dr. Lee include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, ventral or incisional hernia repair, small bowel resection, colectomies, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. She maintains professional memberships with the American College of Surgeons, the Young Surgeons Committee for the Washington Chapter of the ACS, and the Association for Surgical Education. For her wealth of experience and knowledge, Dr. Lee has been published extensively and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. She attributes her success to providing patient centered care, the support of her colleagues, and staying current with the advances and developments in surgical care.
