Zichal, DO, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. He is a highly trained and qualified vascular surgeon with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially the treatment and management of arterial disease. Dr. Ernest F. Zichal has been in practice for more than a decade and is currently serving patients within Riverside Vascular Specialists in Newport News, Virginia. He is also affiliated with Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
Dr. Zichal graduated with his Medical Degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Following his graduation, he went on to complete his surgical residencies at Palms West Hospital in Florida and Saint Barnabas Hospital in New York, where he served as Chief Surgical Resident. He then undertook his Vascular Surgery fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. Zichal is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
Dr. Zichal maintains professional memberships with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Virginia Vascular Society, allowing him to stay current with the latest advances in his field. He has a special interest in using minimally invasive procedures to re-establish blood flow in areas of need. He attributes his success to his excellent teachers and mentors, as well as his hard work. When he is not assisting his patients, Dr. Zichal enjoys spending time with his newborn son, and going to the aquarium.
