She is a Registered Nurse and Interim Nursing Leader with many years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, including nurse leadership and consulting, in women’s and children’s services. Marilyn is currently serving as Interim Leadership Consultant within B.E. Smith in North Carolina.
Marilyn M. Melison gained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1970 from St. John’s College in Cleveland, Ohio. An advocate for continuing education, she went on to gain her Master of Science Degree in Nursing with an emphasis on Perinatal Nursing Administration in 1989 from Case Western Reserve University, also in Cleveland, Ohio.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in nursing, Marilyn maintains a professional membership with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the Society for Pediatric Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She attributes her success to her passion for nursing, her ability to connect with people, and being available to the staff, patients, and physicians. When she is not assisting patients,or assisting those who are, Marilyn enjoys reading and traveling.
