Dennis J. Cheek graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1982 from California State University, Fresno. An advocate for continuing education, Dennis then went on to obtain his Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco in 1988, before gaining his Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Nevada in Reno in 1996, specializing in cellular and molecular pharmacology and physiology.
Dennis is a regular public speaker both nationally and internationally. To keep up to date in the latest advances in his field, Dennis maintains a professional membership with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Physiological Society, the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, the International Society of Nurses in Genetics, and the National Gerontological Nursing Association. Professor Dennis J. Cheek attributes his great success to his love for learning, and when he is not working enjoys traveling, as well as spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
