The Publicity Agency, a national strategic public relations firm headquartered in Tampa, was a founding sponsor of the first ever Gasparilla Interactive Festival today in Tampa.
Held at the Tampa Port Authority Terminal 3, The Gasparilla Interactive Festival featured nationally-known speakers and interactive sessions on digital tech.
“What I think so many people learned from this conference is that Tampa is quickly becoming the next Silicon Valley,” says Glenn Selig, founder and principal of the PR firm The Publicity Agency. “It was great being a part of such a groundbreaking event. And when it’s as big as South by Southwest–not if, but when–we’ll be able to say we were a part of it from the start.”
South by Southwest, or SXSW, is a tech conference in Austin, Texas that has become an incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity held every year for the last 21 years.
The Gasparilla Interactive Festival in Tampa, of course, is still in its infancy.
The Gasparilla Interactive Festival is a community event made possible because of collaboration between Tampa Bay’s public, private, non-profit, and academic institutions.

Gasparilla Interactive Festival Inc. is a Florida non-profit organization that was founded by leadership members of the American Advertising Federation and Ad 2 Tampa Bay chapters.
