Launching an all-out assault on members of Congress who have engaged in sexual harassment, today conservative lawyer and lobbyist Jack Burkman promised to pay $10,000 for “accurate and reliable” information on any member of Congress who has engaged in sexual harassment—Democrat or Republican.

The #MeTooCongress campaign includes a website which solicits tips, along with ads that will appear on D.C. Metro trains and in train stations.

“There is a vast bipartisan conspiracy to not only suppress the truth about sexual harassment but to blacklist all young women who dare to speak out,” says Burkman. “This issue must stay on the frontlines of discussions.”

On Dec. 14, Burkman stood beside former Congressional aide M. Reese Everson as his client fought back tears and bravely accused Rep. Scott, D-Virginia of sexual harassment that happened on several occasions in 2013.

Mr. Scott promptly denied the claims and responded by attacking Mr. Burkman and Ms. Everson.

“The women need to be believed and not dismissed. To the forces of darkness on Capitol Hill, I say today you have met your match,” says Burkman. “I may be a highly Conservative Republican, but this quest for justice will know no bounds. It will expose all wrongdoers.”

Burkman believes that his $10,000 offer for accurate and reliable information related to sexual harassment will help motivate victims or others with knowledge to step forward.

He unveiled a new website (www.metoocongress.com), dedicated to this effort. And he released a mock-up of the billboard ad that will go up in Metro stations and subways near Capitol Hill.

Regarding Everson, Burkman says the reaction by the House Ethics Committee following her revelations about Congressman Scott has been absolutely “pathetic.”

“Ms. Everson feared nothing happen after putting herself out there,” says Burkman. “There must be an investigation by the House Committee on Ethics. Why isn’t that happening?”

Burkman sent a letter to the Committee imploring members to investigate Everson’s claims. In the letter, he said Ms. Everson would be willing to “testify under oath.”

So far there has been no response.

“We must keep on the pressure and the focus on Congress on this sexual harassment issue,” says Burkman. “What this says to me is that the problem is rampant. It would not surprise me if more than 100 [Congressional] members were involved.”
