Every Dentist can replace CPAP masks with Oral Appliances

AADSM's first non-university CE-Qualified Dentist and Diplomate provider, IADMD®-Dr. Dental®, Invites all Dentists to their Sleep Medicine Mini-Residencies to Save Lives
(PR NewsChannel) / November 13, 2017 / POMPANO BEACH, FL

Valuing Knowledge, Integrity, Community®, International Association of Dental and Medical Disciplines® (IADMD®) and its subsidiary, Dr. Dental®, founded in 2004, has been providing dentistry services, charitable dentistry services and projects improving patients’ lives including the lives of underprivileged and impoverished people since 1979.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Can be Fatal. It is also linked to strokes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other diseases and conditions. Physicians prescribe Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) masks; the Gold Standard. When learned first-hand by IADMD® and Dr. Dental founder, Jack Ryan, DMD, from his patients, reasons why they don’t use CPAP: “cumbersome,” “invasive,”  “loud,” “bacteria-collecting masks and hoses” “attached to machines,” etc., this lack of compliance became a grave concern. Dr. Ryan believed CPAP may well be the Gold Standard, but if it is not being used at all, or, as medically directed, these type patients can die. Dr. Ryan researched and studied Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM) and sought out several of the best American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) Diplomate Instructors for a DSM Mini-Residency to help IADMD® and Dr. Dental®’s mission of best dentistry services improving and saving patient lives.

This is not your Average Sleep Medicine or Sleep Apnea Course; this is a robust hands-on mini-residency which will allow all dentists to add Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) within their dental practice. Dentists will learn the basic physiology of pediatric and adult OSA. They will perform patient examination techniques, impression and bite records, fitting and adjusting different state-of-the-art oral appliances and their modes of action. Residency includes the Polysomnogram (PSG), Home Study Test (HST), long-term care, coding for OSA and OAT, and much more!
