John H. Ball, MD, Internal Medicine Physician and Nephrologist with his own practice, and was previously affiliated with Mercy Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, has been named a 2016 Top Doctor in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. John H. Ball is a highly experienced physician, having been in practice for more than 50 years. His long and distinguished career in medicine started in 1967 when he graduated from the the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio. He later completed residencies at the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California, and at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. During these residencies and years following, Dr. Ball served 10 ½ years active duty U.S. Army military service, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. In addition, during these years he was teaching medical residents, interns, and students.
Dr. Ball is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. With his vast experience to call upon, he diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions for patients of all ages, including hypertension, congestive heart failure, and kidney failure.. He is especially renowned, however, as one of the most experienced nephrologists in Colorado, treating primarily dialysis and kidney transplant patients.
With over half a century of top level experience to his name, Dr. Ball remains an internist and nephrologist in high demand, yet he still finds time to help and advise less experienced colleagues. He is currently working as Program Director in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and Hospital Relations for Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Colorado Springs. He is also doing clinical research to prevent readmissions to acute care hospitals. This laudable attitude makes Dr. John H. Ball a very worthy winner of a 2017 Top Doctor Award.
