Wiggs, PhD, RN, CNM, AHN-BC, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Carol M. Wiggs is an established Nurse Educator and Associate Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Featuring over four decades of experience in nursing, she is a specialist nurse educator and an experienced registered nurse and midwife.
Carol gained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1971 from Idaho State University in Pocatello, becoming a Registered Nurse. An advocate for continuing education, she went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and also gained her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University in Houston. Carol has completed a number of advanced training courses, and holds additional certifications as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Board Certified Advanced Holistic Nurse.
Carol has a wealth of experience in many fields of healthcare that she now puts to good use training the nurses of tomorrow. Carol is also at the forefront of educational research and is a distinguished member of the American Nurses Association, the Texas Nurses Association, and the American College of Nurse-Midwives, allowing her to stay current in her field. She attributes her success to her ability to work well as part of a team, and when she is not working, Carol enjoys abstract quilting.
