The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Yvonne I. Duffield to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Yvonne I. Duffield is an established Registered Nurse who is currently retired from practice but continues to work as a Lecturer at South Metropolitan Institute of Technology, – Murdoch Campus in Western Australia, having previously Lectured at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies at Curtin University of Technology. Featuring over four decades of experience as a nurse, she specialized in intensive care, vocational healthcare training, Aboriginal nursing, post-operative nursing, and coronary care.
Yvonne’s career in nursing began in 1971, when she received her certificate in General Nursing from the Lucy Osborne School of Nursing, Sydney Hospital. An advocate for continuing education, she trained to become a Registered Midwife at Liverpool Hospital, and earned her Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Nursing in 2000 from Edith Cowan University. Moreover, she holds a postgraduate diploma in education studies, and obtained her Master of Education in Degree in 2005 from Murdoch University, where she is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Justice Education.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Yvonne maintains a professional membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She has dedicated her life to delivering the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to her patients, and attributes her success to her love for nursing, her hard work, dedication, desire to learn, and by staying current on the science of nursing. In her free time, Yvonne enjoys spending time with her dozen grandchildren, her dog and parrot, and relaxing in the garden.
