The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome, Ellen Larsen Palmer, PhD, RN to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Ellen is an established Registered Nurse, who is currently retired from practice and residing in McKinney, Texas. Featuring over six decades of experience in her field, Ellen specializes in Nursing Education and Global Health. Presently, she is working in as a Volunteer in Global Healthcare, and supports nursing schools in Haiti and India.
Ellen’s career in nursing began in 1954, after graduating with her Nursing Degree from the Mount Sinai School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. An advocate for continuing education, she went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, followed by her Doctorate Degree from Walden University.
A Virginia Henderson Fellow with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Ellen remains a distinguished member of the Texas Nurses Association, and the American Nurses Association. For her hard work and dedication, she is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including an ANA Human Rights Award, TNA Legends and Leaders in Nursing Award, and is a UT Arlington Distinguished Alumni. Ellen attributes her success to her passion for nursing, learning, and people. She dedicates her free time to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, biking, golfing, and fishing.
