Esteemed Advanced Practice Nurse, Khairunnissa Jooma, PMHNP-BC, LPC/MHSP-BC, will be Highlighted in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Khairunnissa Jooma, PMHNP-BC, LPC/MHSP-BC to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. She is an Advanced Practice Nurse in Mental Health and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 yrs of experience in her field. Her experience is vast and covers a spectrum of  mental health issues with her focus on trauma and sexaul abuse. She has worked  across life spectrum but she specializes  with children and adolescents. Ms Jooma is currently serving clients within Helen Ross McNabb Center Mental Health Blount, Loudon and Knoxville counties in Tennessee.

After receiving her initial nursing education in Pakistan at Aga Khan University as a Diploma nurse, she continued her educational journey pursuing Bachelors in psychology and dual Masters, both in Counseling and Nursing at the University of Tennessee. Currently she is enrolled at East Tennessee State University completing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Throughout her educational journey, she focused on treating mental health with holistic perspective and worked with a diverse population with cultural competency skills. She has also been published in the Journal of Social Action and Psychology.

Ms Jooma is certified in a variety of therapeutic modalities including domestic violence, cultural competency and trauma. She continues to work with her community in many roles both as consultant and  administrative and educational developer, alongside as a presenter giving seminars and lectures throughout the Southeast region. To keep up to date with the latest advances in her field, she maintains a professional membership with the American Nurses Association and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She attributes her success to God who has been a her guide and plays an integral role in paving the path for service to her community. She has a wide variety of supporters but she emphasizes her husband and her children who have been her rocks in this path, along with being in similar fields to continue this legacy of service and unconditional love. She is passionate about educating her clients in making informed consent and being an active participant in their care.
