Brown is a highly trained and qualified psychiatrist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, especially psychiatric evaluations, counseling, civil, criminal and family court, independent psychiatric evaluations, psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, and neuro-linguistic programming. Dr. Brown has been in practice for more than 20 years and is currently serving patients within his own private practice located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in the field of psychology in 1987 from Oberlin College, Dr. Brown attended the University of Arkansas, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1991. He subsequently completed his residency in General Psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center, before undertaking his Forensic Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Rochester. Dr. Brown is double board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry, and maintains a professional membership with the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the American Psychiatric Association.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also founded the Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and has been the Residency Training Director since 2004. Dr. Brown has performed evaluations for the Clark County Commitment Court, evaluating the potentially mentally ill and dangerous since 1997. Dr. Brown is committed to providing comprehensive and professional evaluation and care for his clients. He attributes his success to taking the necessary time to listen to his clients and patients, and working with a variety of patient centered therapeutic techniques to provide more of a holistic evaluation and treatment.
