National PR Firm, The Publicity Agency’s client Lupe Montufar was recently featured in the British newspaper “The Sun” as she discussed her relationship with L’Wren Scott, the fashion designer and longtime girlfriend of the Rolling Stone’s front man Mick Jagger who committed suicide earlier this month.
In the article, published on March 21, Montufar explains the wild spending and cash woes that she believes drove Scott to suicide.
“She had a lot of money problems. She would spend, spend, spend,” said Montufar in the article. “She went shopping almost every day. She would spend £350 (almost $600) on a bra. She would buy clothes and then never wear them. She was constantly throwing out bags of clothes by Gucci, Prada, Dior.
Lupe Montufar worked for L’Wren Scott in LA from 1993 to 2009, looking after her apartment and later her Hollywood Hills house. The two were so close that Montufar said Scott paid her bonuses into an account that was supposed to be for the housekeeper’s son when he turned 18.
But when Montufar accessed the account a few years ago the balance was just a few hundred dollars leaving her wondering whether her former boss and friend cleared out the account or never put the cash into it in the first place.
“She told me things she didn’t tell her closest friends. She was beautiful and intelligent. But when I looked into her eyes I could tell she was sad,” said Montufar. “Despite the money she owed me, I did love her very much.”
