Prohibition. When the outlawing of alcohol gave rise to mixed-gender speakeasies, roaring 20’s jazz clubs and distilled spirits. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, but it at all came to an end when lawmakers passed the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on December 5, 1933.
