A small business owner and newly published author of her first book, “Open For Business, Now What?” A small business guide to what to do after the OPEN sign goes up, has pledged all proceeds of her book to support Honor Flight of West Central Florida and its efforts to get WWII Veterans to their memorial in D.C.. Osprey Observer Newspapers Managing Editor Marie Gilmore has learned the business of being in business from the ground up. Starting as a one-page photocopied newsletter in January of 2002 and now publishing five local, growing newspapers with more than 200 pages per month, she is fully aware of the trials, tribulations and mistakes that small business owners make.
In this, her first published book, Gilmore shares simple, yet necessary advice for small business owners on the next steps needed after the Open For Business sign goes up. From professionalism in small business to how to get Facebook friends, she shares simple tips and tricks to get every business owner inspired to succeed in business.
“Writing a book was an item on my bucket list,” describes Gilmore, a Lithia resident and mother of two. “I want to share some of my tips and tricks with other small business owners and putting it down on paper and sharing it in a book form was the best way to share the information.”
In addition to selling the book online at Amazon.com for $5.99, the user-friendly 80-page book, Gilmore will offer a $0.99 download of Kindle version of the book on her website www.openforbusinessnowwhat.com for business owners. “I wrote the book to share my knowledge of small business and I would be proud of any business owner who will download it and take a few minutes and read it.”
In addition, from the sales of all printed books on Amazon.com or through the website, 100 percent of the profits will be donated to Honor Flight of West Central Florida, an organization whose sole mission is to fly World War II Veterans to Washington D.C. to see their memorial for free.
“I have been a guardian on these flights and the Veterans are our living histories, I will fly again and again until we finish this important mission and every little bit counts so I am honored to be able to help.”
Gilmore is the author of this book that is planned as the first book in the “Open For Business! Now What?” series.
