Tampa, Fla.  — With the goal of honoring donors and volunteers on National Philanthropy Day, the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) will host its second annual awards benefit on Thursday, November 15, at the Oxford Exchange.

The event – titled Faces of Philanthropy – will honor 10 of FMoPA’s most generous donors and volunteers.

“We are proud to have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local photographers, sponsors and volunteers of the museum community,” said FMoPA’s executive director, Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “This event allows us to show our appreciation for their hard work and generosity.”

This year, the museum is offering sponsorship opportunities for those who wish to carry on the work the awardees have pushed forward.

With their contributions toward FMoPA’s biggest fundraising event, sponsors will help bring exhibitions from nationally and internationally renowned photographers like Berenice Abbott, Bruce Dale and Olivia Parker.

Sponsors also will be supporting local artists and arts groups and funding the preservation of important photographic works.

FMoPA has three sponsorship levels that range from $1,000 to $5,000 of support, and each package will give sponsors exposure to art leaders, businesses, and the overall Tampa area.

“These sponsorships are vital and they make FMoPA the thriving community it is,” Carrier said. “We are confident that this year’s sponsors will continue to make a difference for our museum.”

The fundraising event will entail a seated dinner, an awards presentation, specialty cocktails, an on-site fundraising opportunity and a pop-up exhibition. Tickets will be available toward the end of the summer.
