Dr. Subrato J. Deb is a highly experienced and respected surgeon, having been in practice for over two decades. His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1992, when he graduated with honors with his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and was selected to the AOA Medical Honor Society. Thereafter, he completed his General Surgery internship and residency with the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Pursuing advanced medical training, Dr. Deb completed his research fellowship in the Department of Surgery, Section of Trauma and Resuscitative Medicine at F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, before undertaking his Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Deb is double board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has earned the coveted titles of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncologists, and he has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality surgical care to his patients. He served in the Department of the Navy in the Medical Corps, and retired after 24 years of service, having served in three major conflicts, most recently as a battlefield surgeon in Iraq with the Marines.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Deb shares his wealth of expertise as an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery and Section Chief in the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Deb is Director of Thoracic Oncology at the Stephenson Cancer Center and a leading authority in Oklahoma in thoracic cancers, esophageal malignancies and foregut conditions. He has been published extensively for his hard work and dedication, and is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. His patient centric focus, paired with his contributions to his field, make Dr. Subrato J. Deb, MD, FACS, FCCP a very worthy winner of a 2018 Top Doctor Award.
