The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Sheila E. El-Amin, CRNA to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Sheila E. El-Amin is an established Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist currently serving patients within MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Featuring over four decades of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in midwifery, maternity, and anesthesia.
Sheila’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1966, after attending nursing school and completing her midwifery training in London, England. Thereafter, she graduated with her degree in nursing anesthesia in 1976 from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Since graduating, she has completed a number of advanced training courses and remains committed to staying current with the latest advances in nursing.
Sheila has dedicated her life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to her patients. She is a former member of the Black Nurses Association, and engages in local public speaking at schools and churches about her work in anesthesiology. Sheila attributes her success to her love for people, helping and nurturing others, as well as her compassionate and kind nature. When Sheila is not working, she enjoys performing community service, traveling around the world, enjoying horseback riding, playing chess and dancing. She has gained several opportunities throughout the duration of her nursing career, which consisted of meeting wonderful people and providing helpful service.
