As tensions reach unprecedented levels on Capitol Hill, D.C. lawyer and lobbyist Jack Burkman is offering $25,000 in return for an anonymous, credible whistleblower within the FBI. Burkman hopes to expose whether any wrongdoing has actually occurred regarding investigations centered on the 2016 presidential election.
Burkman fears the growing rift may lead to a historic conflict between critical branches of government.
“Enough is enough, let’s settle this,” said Burkman. “America is facing too many issues at home and abroad to be preoccupied with infighting. If an issue exists, it’s critical to our society to fix it immediately.”
Last week Republican members of Congress and the White House released a controversial memo detailing investigate deceit and mishandling by the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller. In its wake, politicians and journalists alike have been at war over its credibility, accuracy and whether there are more sinister intentions from those in power.
The FBI responded to the memo with a rare statement from its top members claiming it to be inaccurate, while Congressional Democrats are planning the release of a counter-memo.
Regardless of the outcome, much of America is left in the dark on who to trust as key information remains classified.
“The American people are between a rock and a hard place,” said Burkman. “Whether it’s The White House or FBI, someone isn’t telling the truth and it puts everyone in danger. If there’s a member of the FBI who wants to settle this, I’m ready to help.”
Burkman has been the face of several campaigns aiming to settle various controversial issues. Spring of 2017 saw him hoping to bring one family peace as spectators stormed them with theories about their son’s death, Seth Rich, a former DNC staffer. He has also offered free legal representation for victims of sexual harassment in Hollywood and, more recently, in D.C. with #metoocongress.
“Everyday the American public is slapped with a new issue and offered a thousand ways to think about it.,” said Burkman. “But too often these become a circus. These problems are too critical to become a spectacle, so if those in charge won’t do anything, I will.”
