Edward Paul, OD, PhD, FIALVS, is a highly trained and qualified Optometrist with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially in the treatment of age related eye conditions. He is currently serving patients at the Paul Vision Institute in Wilmington, North Carolina, and also at branches in Raleigh and Charlotte.
Dr. Paul has been in practice for more than 25 years, and his medical career began when he gained his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed an internship at the Womack Army Hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina, followed by a residency at the St. Luke’s Eye Institute in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Dr. Paul also holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Nutrition.
With a wealth of experience to call upon, Dr. Paul treats a wide range of eye conditions, but he is particularly renowned as an expert in the treatment of age related macular degeneration. His work in this field led to the creation of the groundbreaking TOZAL formula, a prescription eye vitamin that can bring spectacular results. He has appeared regularly on television to talk about his work in the treatment of macular degeneration and low vision, and has also authored a number of books including “Conquering Macular Degeneration”. Dr. Paul is also one of 30 optometrists in the United States to be awarded the coveted title of Fellow of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists.
