Expert Health Consultant and Professor, I. Bernice P. Baxter, RN, BSN, Ed.M, M.DIV, D.DIV, will be Highlighted in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome I. Bernice P. Baxter, RN, BSN, Ed.M, M.DIV, D.DIV, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. I. Bernice P. Baxter is a Health Consultant and Community Health Nurse currently working for Delaware County Intermediate Unit as the Early Head Start/Head Start/Child Community Partnerships Health Consultant. With over five decades of experience in nursing, she is a specialist School and Community Health, Nursing.

Bernice gained her initial Nursing Degree in 1954 from the Bellevue Schools of Nursing,New York University. becoming a Registered Nurse. An advocate for continuing education, she later gained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing, a Masters in Education from Temple University’ School of Education,a Masters of Divinity from Eastern Baptist (Palmer)Theological Seminary in Wynnewood Pennsylvania.. She was awarded a Doctor of Divinity from the International Christian University at Chesapeake, Virginia.

Bernice has a wealth of experience in many areas of nursing, and has held a number of senior positions within healthcare environments including; School Nurse Supervisor, Philadelphia School District, Public Health Nurse Consultant, Division of Nursing,Pennsylvania Department of Health,  Director of the Division of School Health , Pennsylvania Department of Health,. After retiring from the directorship with The Pennsylvania Department of Health she held the position of Director of School Health and Associate Professor of School Nursing at Eastern University for fourteen years. She was elected and served a term as President of the National Association of State School Nurse Consultants, and held membership with  the Pennsylvania Nurses Association, and the National Association of School Nurses. She served as a Certified Federal Health Reviewer and Evaluator and consultant for Office of Children and Youth, Head Start Programs for twenty years. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Dr. Baxter  attributes her success to her passion for nursing, a career she had dreamed of since the age of eleven.

She was ordained as a minister of the Gospel by the American Baptist Association and has been recognized as a women trailblazer.. She is an Associate Pastor at Harold O. Davis Memorial United Church of Christ. She continues to be active in her church, with her family, and community.
