Dr. Boyd E. Metzger obtained his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City in 1959. After completing an internship and residency at the Michael A. Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Dr. Metzger undertook a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Metzger is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he remains a professional member of the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society. He is renowned for his expertise in, and research of diabetes, and attributes his success to having a great working environment and having the funding to make his research possible. When not assisting patients, Dr. Metzger enjoys traveling and photography.
