Dr. Elissa Jeanne Santoro received her Medical Degree in 1965 at the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, followed by completing her internship and then residency. She then completed a further residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center, before a fellowship was gained at New York Medical College.
Dr. Santoro is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery, but she is renowned across New Jersey and beyond as a specialist in breast surgical oncology, having appeared as an expert on radio and television shows. Furthermore, she maintains professional memberships with the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, the Essex County American Cancer Society, and the New Jersey American Cancer Society. Dr. Santoro attributes her great success to her excellent upbringing, and her persistence when it came to achieving her desire of becoming a doctor. When she is not working, Dr. Santoro enjoys reading and traveling, and is also a fan of hot air ballooning.
