The Architectural Products Magazine has awarded Overhead Door Corporation first place for the windows/doors/openings category in its annual Product Innovation Awards. The Mid-Atlantic Door Group, the leading distributor for Overhead Door Corporation, is pleased with this award, as it shows the level of innovation its customers receive when purchasing an Overhead Door product.
The award was given for Overhead Door’s Stormtite AP Model 627, an insulated rolling service door. The award came after a panel of 50 architects and builders looked at a handful of products in the category. It points to the innovation shown in the development of this door to be stronger with greater thermal performance.
The Stormtite AP Model 627 offers the most advanced thermal performance available to commercial property owners. The advanced performance commercial rolling door has an R-value of 10.89 and a U-value of 0.09. It was tested for an installed U-factor of 0.84.
With these values, the door surpasses international Energy Conservation Code thermal performance requirements. The door helps reduce operating costs by minimizing heat lost through air transfer.
“Building on the success of last year’s program, this year’s award proves that commercial building manufacturers are committed to delivering more sustainable products as well as products that provide better performance, life and affordability,” said Jim Crockett, the magazine’s editorial director. This is the third edition of the Product Innovation Awards.
