Turning the intimidating press release into an innovative way to reach your publics

The purpose of the press release has evolved over time—now it not only serves to get media attention, but also provides a well written reference for people, not just the press, to read about your company or organization. This includes potential employees or volunteers, consumers, stakeholders or anyone else interested in what you offer.

Many people hold back from using press releases because they don’t feel that their company has done anything newsworthy. Oh, but you have! What about that customer who just wrote an amazing review about your dry cleaning service? Put it in a press release! What about that new dish you just added to the menu? Put it in a press release! Just because the information doesn’t land you an interview with Oprah doesn’t mean that your public won’t find it newsworthy.

For example, by having your release available online through a press release writing and distribution company, Internet users can access your release. When appropriate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques are used, a company’s releases can show up in Google’s or Yahoo!’s search results.

A press release is just a modern, customized resource that people can search for on the web that gets your company some buzz in a credible, well communicated fashion.
