Mobile Marketing Strategies Summit BostonJim Abramson is the Senior Director of Digital Technology at Marriott International, Inc., and will be speaking this week at the October 2-3, 2013 Mobile Marketing Strategies Summitin Boston, MA, hosted by Global Strategic Management Institute (GSMI). Jim will be discussing the future of mobile during his closing keynote: What’s Coming Next in Mobile?

Jim joined Marriott in January 2012 and is responsible for both Marriott.com and Marriott’s mobile technology strategy and planning. With over 10 years of mobile experience, Jim has defined, designed, and delivered new apps, mobile web sites, mobile messaging, mobile advertising, mobile payments, and location-based solutions. He provides leadership to help Marriott innovate and bring new mobile experiences to the marketplace, including the recent launch of mobile check-in to 329 Marriott hotels in North America.

Marriott is in an interesting position within the hospitality industry as the company is tasked with delivering the future of travel for the next generation. eMarketer estimates that mobile booking will grow from 11.9 million bookers in 2012 to 36.3 million in 2016 – something that many travel and hospitality marketers are not fully optimizing. At MMSS, attendees will explore the strides and efforts Marriott is taking to truly revolutionize the hotel industry with mobile marketing.

Other presentations and speakers for October’s event include:

  • Opening Keynote: Marketing with a Mobile-First Mentality, presented by John Trimble, Chief Revenue Officer at Pandora
  • Case Study: Intersection of Mobile, Location, & Commerce, presented by Sarah Hodkinson, Director of Marketing & Sales Strategy at PayPal
  • Mobile Usage in a Cross-Platform World, presented by Jonathan Gorski, Manager of Digital Media Research & Analytics at ESPN

“eMarketer estimates that mobile booking will grow from 11.9 million bookers in 2012 to 36.3 million in 2016 – something that many travel and hospitality marketers are not fully optimizing,” says MMMS producer Alicia Mitchell. “At MMSS, attendees will explore the strides and efforts Marriott is taking to truly revolutionize the hotel industry with mobile marketing.”
