“The Skinny on Skin” (ISBN 1461137179), an illustrated guide by Dr. David J. Najarian, seeks to give laypersons, physician extenders, nurses and medical students a quick and informative introduction to the field of dermatological care.

After surveying the literature on skin and skin health, Dr. Najarian noticed a lack of clear, patient-oriented information. “The Skinny on Skin” represents an answer to this problem by providing detailed descriptions of common ailments and treatments that can be understood and provide value to amateur readers as well as new practitioners. Dr. Najarian provides readers with the benefit of his years of practice as a board-certified dermatologist and acknowledged expert on dermatological issues.

“My main objective in writing the book was to share my professional knowledge with the public, to help them care for their own skin,” says Dr. Najarian. “It is appropriate for anyone with an interest in learning more about skin.”

Utilizing his unique perspective as a speaker and educator on dermatological topics, Dr. Najarian wrote the book to engage and inform. The book’s many essays are grouped by central theme into four sections – skin conditions, medical treatments, cosmetic treatments and surgical treatments. The handy guide is written for quick comprehension and easy reference.
