(PR NewsChannel) / November 28, 2012 / BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.

larry hagman ojai homeLarry Hagman died in November 2012 at the age of 81 from Throat Cancer at a Dallas area hospital. In his death, Hagman has left behind his his his home in Ojai that he and his wife called “Heaven”. Now “Heaven” can be yours and the nostalgic conversation piece that this property provides, plus the star history that you would forever own is truly incredible. The place would be a great investment just for the Hollywood star power that you’d own a piece of in this getaway on top of the world.

Hagman lived like royalty but he worked very hard to get there. His hard drinking days, where he’d readily open his home to the press for parties, cost him a liver. But if you’re J.R. Ewing / Hagman, getting to the top of the donor list wasn’t a big stretch. It just came with the territory. Of course we all would do the same if we had to and could, just like we’d own this house if we could.

The deep pockets it would take to buy this house are out there and since Larry Hagman was a worldwide star. His passing should bring new buyer interest to this car property mansion that has been for sale for approximately 3 years.

People who’ve been inside the house before it was staged, claim that there was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in one of the gathering rooms where guests could sit back and relax. Apparently, the Harley was removed for staging purposes but it would have been a nice entertaining touch to keep while showing the home to prospective buyers.

The off-the-grid property 60 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles has separate solar systems providing energy for the main residence, the well and the caretaker’s home, while creating surplus power. When Hagman installed the first system in 2003, his annual electric bill went from $37,000 to $13.

Sitting behind iron gates, the 18,000-square-foot main house has an open floor plan with walls of sliding glass doors, painted murals, an indoor grotto-style spa and a retractable roof over a 40-foot saltwater lap pool in the grand room, which has accommodated parties of up to 200 people. Glass walls on three sides give unobstructed views from the master suite. There are ocean, mountain and valley vistas.

The compound includes a two-bedroom guesthouse, a separate office, an outside pool connected by streams to two ponds, a private helipad and more than 200 avocado trees.

Hagman was a television, film and stage actor for more than five decades. Hagman starred in the 2012 – 2013 “Dallas” TV show reprise, again as oil tycoon J.R. Ewing. Hagman was twice nominated for Emmy’s for his work on “Dallas” (1978-91). He starred as Maj. Anthony Nelson in the sitcom “I Dream of Jeannie” (1965-70).
