About the Author: Dani Gibson was born in Springfield, Mo. and moved with her family to Green River, Wyo. after her high school graduation. After working at various jobs she eventually met her future husband, Doni Gibson. The pair was married in 1988 and together raised their son and daughter in Rock Springs. Doni’s illness and eventual death led to Dani’s writing “The Miracle of Cancer,” after never having written more than an occasional poem in her life. Dani continues to reside in Wyoming.
