Tampa Bay & Company celebrated 26 years of serving as Hillsborough County’s official tourism marketing corporation at its Annual Meeting & Dinner, presented by LEGOLAND® Florida, yesterday at A La Carte Event Pavilion.  Nearly 600 people attended the annual event, which included the induction of new officers and members of the organization’s Board of Directors.

The annual celebration was held to highlight the accomplishments of the organization over the past 26 years, as well as to generate awareness of the value of the visitor industry to the Tampa Bay area.

Attendees enjoyed an entertaining roast of president and CEO Paul Catoe, as he prepares to retire from Tampa Bay & Company.  Special roast appearances included Jack Harris with Newsradio 970 WFLA, Rick Nafe with the Tampa Bay Rays, Thom Stork with The Florida Aquarium, Lou Plasencia with the Plasencia Group, Inc. Leonard Levy and more.

During the business portion of the celebration, it was announced that Ron Ciganek, senior vice president of USAmeriBank, would fill the role of chairman of Tampa Bay & Company’s Board of Directors for the coming year.

Jim Dean with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will serve as Vice Chair, Derrick Morrow with the Hyatt Regency Tampa will serve as Secretary, and Pam Avery with the Wyndham Tampa Westshore Hotel will serve as treasurer.
