"Basic Designs Principles of Architecture" by Hijun Yu and Leonard Parker

“Basic Design Principles of Architecture” (ISBN 1460992377) by Hijun Yu and Leonard Parker explains how the design principles of architecture work in a simple manner. Their book is an easy-to-follow guide and textbook that will provide readers with an easy-to-understand tool to simplify the complex subject of architecture.

Their book addresses the fundamental questions concerning the essentials of modern architecture in terms of major concepts and key ideas. The main objective of the book is to help readers understand and create high quality architectural design. It will also assist readers in understanding and verifying the criteria for differentiating between marginal and superior architectural design.

The book is organized so that readers will clearly utilize and comprehend essential architectural design elements. By translating architecture into a down-to-earth language, the book is a useful guide for its readers.

“I want this book to become a bible of architecture and architectural design, not only for architects and architectural students, but for anyone who has an interest in architecture and wants to be able to distinguish between good, bad and great architecture,” Yu says.
