NBC News’ “Today” took home three Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards, beating ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the “Outstanding Morning Program” category. “Today” Director Joe Michaels was recognized in the “Outstanding Directing in a Talk Show/Morning” category, and the program’s Production Mixers, David Levens and Matt Rifino, were recognized in the “Outstanding Achievement in Live & Direct to Tape Sound Mixing” category.
The award winners were announced on Friday evening, June 17th at the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala in Los Angeles. The Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy® Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2010 calendar year.
