Eric Seidel appointed to Hillsborough County value adjustment board

Consumer Lawyer Eric Seidel, a partner in the law firm of McIntyre, Panzarella, Thanasides, was recently appointed by Hillsborough County Commissioners to a position on the Hillsborough County Value Adjustment Board (VAB). 

The VAB was created by Florida Statute 194.015 to provide citizens a forum to address complaints when they believe the Property Appraiser has over assessed their property or improperly denied an exemption or classification, or the Tax Collector improperly denied a tax deferral.  The VAB hires qualified appraisers and attorneys as special magistrates to conduct hearings on these issues.  It is comprised of two Hillsborough County Commissioners, one member of the Hillsborough County School Board, and two appointed members.

For nearly 20 years, Eric Seidel was seen nightly as the Consumer Lawyer on WTVT, Fox 13, assisting viewers with their legal and consumer problems.  As an attorney with McIntyre, Panzarella, Thanasides, Eric focuses on the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, mass torts, such as the BP Oil Spill and NFL Concussion settlements, bankruptcy, business, and family law. 

Eric has won numerous awards including the Hillsborough Bar Association’s Have a Heart Award, the American Bar Association’s Local Government Law Award, and the Florida Bar’s Media Award.  He is a member of the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.  He received his B.A. cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1985 and his JD cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in 1991.
