Rock Blackwell, training in Tampa, faces Reggie Miller on October 5.

U.S. promotional outfit “PBP” has moved their anticipated professional boxing card headlined by Rock Blackwell versus Miller from August 24 to October 5 2013.

The American light-heavyweight prospect, Blackwell was due to face the Miller August 24 but the fight was postponed due to a license issue with the athletic commission. The two combatants will meet at a catch weight of 178lbs with Blackwell being the prohibitive favorite to defeat Miller as boxing analysts are predicting another Blackwell blowout.

Rock Blackwell is considered by some to be one the best rising defensive fighters of the year based on how he comes out unscathed after a fight. One of the basics of his greatness is his fast, hard-hitting style and use of the shoulder roll, otherwise known as the Philly shell defense.

Earlier this week, Blackwell answered some questions about how he got to where he is now.

Q. What inspired you to become a boxer?

A. Boxing is my purpose, God gave me the gift. But boxing is just one of many chapters. But my true purpose is to serve and become a part of history. I want to liberate people from their fears and help them become the perfect version of themselves.

Q. What advice do you have for young boxers?

A. The best advice I can give to the young fighters is to put God first, believe in yourself and keep pressing forward no matter what. So many people are going to doubt you, count you out and lose faith in you, but you have to keep pressing forward. If you know boxing is your destiny, never give up until you reach your goals.

Q. How do you deal with the pressure while training for fights?

A. Well, I believe that I’m a diamond in the rough. And if you know anything about diamonds, you’d know that they are formed under pressure, so I welcome it. Diamonds are forever.

Q. What would be your ideal legacy?

A. To please God by serving and not being served and to change as many lives as possible. The true power of boxing isn’t in the ring, the true power of boxing is the power of one to move the hearts of millions.

Q. What do you say to people who hate on you or believe you will fail?

A. Unfortunately hate follow’s success, but I could care less what hater’s think, God is my master, my only concern is what he thinks about me.
