Scarritt-Bennett Center is pleased to announce the opening of a photography exhibit entitled Insight by Rita J. Maggart which will run through September 21. The photographer’s reception will be held on August 27 from 5-6:30pm and is free and open to the public.
With a background in oil painting and floral design, Maggart paints her photography with light, shadow, and form to sculpt her sepia toned images into an intimate experience. The goal of this conceptual photography is to guide the viewer from the obvious to the abstract, and through observation make visible what is invisible to the casual observer. Maggart is represented by the Upstairs Gallery in Leipers Fork, TN.
