Wilson, DDS, MS, Periodontist, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in the Leading Physicians of the World. He is a highly-trained and qualified periodontist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work. Dr. Wilson has been practicing for over thirty-five years and is currently serving patients at Metropolitan Periodontists, PA, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In private practice since 1980, he has been serving patients at his present location since 1989. In 1987, Dr. Wilson introduced implants into his practice and in 2008 he became the first periodontist in Minnesota to incorporate LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) as a treatment for periodontal disease, which is much more comfortable for patients and gets much better results than traditional periodontal surgery.
Today, Dr. Wilson uses LANAP almost exclusively for treatment of periodontal issues. In 2010, Millennium Dental, the company that makes the LANAP equipment, invited Dr. Wilson to train as a national instructor for the new technology. In 2007, Dr. Wilson trained for and began implementing Wilckodontics as another treatment option. Wilckodontics uses a combination of traditional periodontal techniques to greatly accelerate the orthodontic process. Braces can be completed in months instead of years. He feels that he owes his successful career to research, technology, making a difference in the field, and Comprehensive Dental Study Club. When he is not working, Dr. Wilson enjoys baseball, gardening, football, and biking.
Dr. Wilson studied for his doctorate of dental surgery at the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry and graduated in 1977. Board certified by the American Board of General Dentistry, he stays at the forefront of a challenging specialty through his professional society memberships with the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, and the Minnesota Association of Periodontists. Prior to dental school, Dr. Wilson completed a bachelor’s degree of science in chemistry at North Dakota State University. He also holds a postdoctoral master degree of science in periodontology acquired in 1980 at the University of Minnesota.
