Skilled Nurse Sonia Jones, RN, NUM, ANM is to be recognized for her outstanding achievements in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Sonia Jones, RN, NUM, ANM joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Registered Nurse with twenty-two years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in all facets of nursing. Sonia is currently serving patients as Acting Nurse Manager of Surgical Services at Western Sydney Local Health District/Blacktown Hospital in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. She is responsible for orthopeadic, urology/general surgery wards, ambulatory care services, intensive care services, clinical nurse screener services, pain services, Stoma and wound care services, and patient discharge services.

Sonia attended the University of Technology, Sydney, and received her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in nursing in 1994. She is currently working towards her Master of Business Administration at the Australian Management Institute. Sonia was WSLHD CEO’s choice Quality Award winner in 2013. In the past she was a member of the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Federation and the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia. Currently Sonia has embraced roles in several hospitals such as, being the project lead of Electronic Medical Records for Mount Druitt Hospital, the co-lead of the Cath Lab Project Strategic Improvement Program at Blacktown Hospital, and a prevention advocate of Venous Thromboembolism at Mount Druitt Hospital. Sonia also has a publication in the NSW Cultures that Day Journal, “Essentials of Care Nsw Public Health” in 2014.

Sonia credits her success to a consuming desire to promote efficient and quality operating procedures through coordinated team work and her continual effort to incorporate evidence based knowledge into her practice.
