About to fire off that press release? Don’t bother, unless you’re avoiding this common pitfall: SEO neglect.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) provides the lifeblood of the press release. Without SEO, your release bypasses the people you want to reach and winds up lost in cyberspace. No one will find it.
Writing about your business? Think in terms of keywords. Rather than provide broad hyperlinks in your release like “doctor” or “lawyer,” be sure to specify where you practice your business. You’ll find people are much more likely to Google “Tampa chiropractor” than “doctor.” Focus, but don’t get overly specific. People won’t find you if they don’t know you exist, so your press release must establish your existence.
