TAMPA, Fla. / A new survey of journalists reinforces a message the press release distribution company PRNewsChannel (https://prnewschannel.com) has been delivering to clients for years: that press releases that are well-written and emailed to targeted journalists are best.
The new survey by the Oriella PR Network, an alliance of 15 PR agencies around the world, questioned 750 journalists in 15 countries. It shows 75% of journalists surveyed prefer that press releases be sent to them via email and the content of the press release should be "high quality and well targeted."
"Press releases need to be relevant, timely and of use to journalists for them to resonate," says Randy Scott, of PRNewsChannel, the press release distribution company. "When we send a press releases via email, we go through great lengths for grammar and style and then we make sure each distribution is targeted to only the journalists most likely to be interested in that particular press release."

Journalists don't want to be spammed and they don't want to be bothered with "news" that has no relevance to what they cover, says Scott.
"When a press release comes from us journalists know to read it because its relevant to their beats," says Scott.
Unlike some press release distribution companies, PRNewsChannel does not "bundle" news releases.
"We send them out one at a time," says Scott.
