TAMPA, Fla / The 16th Annual Cesar Gonzmart Memorial Gourmet Golf Tournament takes place on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Tampa.
A percentage of the proceeds will benefit student-athletes of the University of South Florida so they can enjoy some of the top athletic training and sports facilities across the nation, and will also offer other students and fans the opportunity to enjoy a collegiate athletic contest at the highest level possible on campus.
Additionally a portion will also benefit the University of South Florida’s Latino Scholarship Fund where the Gonzmart Family Foundation has established the fully endowed Adela and Cesar Gonzmart Memorial Scholarship and the Columbia Centennial Scholarship to assist financially challenged but academically excellent Latino students.
Currently there are five minority students attending USF on full scholarships under these two endowments.
Golfers will enjoy a traditional Ybor City lunch of a Cuban sandwich and plantain chips along with many of the Columbia Restaurant's iconic dishes served on the golf course like the Original "1905" SaladTM, Paella and Shrimp Ajillo, along with The Columbia Café’s meatloaf sandwiches, as well as BBQ Chicken Sandwiches from Cha Cha Coconuts Tropical Bar & Grill and a made-to-order fajita bar from Moe’s Southwest Grill.
